ALTHOUGH writing is often an end in itself, most writers also hope to see their work in print. Fiction writers write to be read.

Because we know how difficult it is to present one's work, we are opening our monthly Featured Writer spot, as well as our Book List and our Writers Talk feature to submissions.

FEATURED WRITER

IN our monthly Featured Writer, we post short stories and novel chapters up to 5000 words in length. Submissions must be fiction, must be in English, must be submitted in Word (.doc) or Rich Text (.rtf) format, and only via the submit field on this page. We cannot handle email attachments or USPS submissions. Please be sure to note 'Featured Writer' on your submission.

All submissions deserve a thoughtful reading, and we will close down the submission field whenever we reach the maximum number of submissions we can handle. If the submission field is closed, please give us a few days to catch up and then try again.

There is no charge for reading and no payment to featured authors. Exposure on an established site is what we offer.

WRITERS TALK

DO you have something to say that fellow writers may find interesting, informative, or entertaining? Send it to us, and if we agree, we'll post it on our Writers Talk feature. Pieces should be short, no more than 1000 words, and in Word or Rich Text format. If the submission field is closed, please give us a few days to catch up with submissions and try submitting again. And please note 'Writers Talk' on your submission.

There is no fee and no payment. Just the opportunity to reach a wide audience.

BOOK LIST

IF you have a published book that is available through amazon.com or powells.com, you can ask to have it added to our Book List. We read every book first to make sure it's one we can confidently recommend to our readers, and we charge a reading fee of $75.00 for that. In addition, if we choose to add your book to our list, there is a one-time set-up fee of $35.00. If your book is accepted and you wish to have the first chapter available to be read on-site, there is a one-time $50.00 charge for that service. If your book is not chosen to be added to our list, and you include a suitable SASE, we will return your copy. Please include a legal-size SASE so we can notify you of our decision. We accept fiction (novels and story collections), non-fiction, and poetry.
